Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Metals, Banking and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 rose 0.11% to hit a new 3-months high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:ZEE), which rose 18.46% or 48.10 points to trade at 309.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI) added 6.83% or 12.95 points to end at 202.45 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was up 5.01% or 65.80 points to 1379.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 6.11% or 4.30 points to trade at 66.60 at the close. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS:TCS) declined 2.76% or 62.65 points to end at 2200.90 and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS:IOC) was down 2.83% or 4.15 points to 142.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:INBK) which rose 5.18% to 1379.45, Tata Steel Ltd (BO:TISC) which was up 5.09% to settle at 399.85 and Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which gained 3.10% to close at 152.90.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 5.46% to 66.60 in late trade, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (BO:TCS) which lost 3.00% to settle at 2202.05 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which was down 2.81% to 589.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 901 to 673 and 63 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1360 rose and 1116 declined, while 157 ended unchanged.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.36% to 15.7325.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 2.25 to $1512.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.39% or 0.21 to hit $54.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.11 to trade at $59.73 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.16% to 70.862, while EUR/INR fell 0.22% to 78.9690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 97.145.
