Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Holdings & Investments and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.36%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN), which rose 3.64% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.710 at the close. Meanwhile, Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 1.26% or 0.040 points to end at 3.210 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 1.03% or 0.010 points to 0.980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO), which fell 7.64% or 2.64 points to trade at 31.92 at the close. Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) declined 7.07% or 1.72 points to end at 22.60 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) was down 6.33% or 0.100 points to 1.480.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 329 to 37 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.33% or 0.100 to 1.480.
Gold for August delivery was up 4.68% or 59.15 to $1322.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.39% or 2.20 to hit $47.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 4.46% or 2.27 to trade at $48.64 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.53% to 2.9257, while EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 3.2574.
The US Dollar Index was up 2.33% at 95.50.
