Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Metal Products & Machinery, Sports and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.69%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM), which rose 2.91% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 2.63% or 0.020 points to end at 0.780 and Cimsa (IS:CIMSA) was up 2.01% or 0.33 points to 16.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO), which fell 7.23% or 2.82 points to trade at 36.20 at the close. Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) declined 5.49% or 0.500 points to end at 8.600 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was down 5.41% or 1.24 points to 21.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 225 to 96 and 88 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 1.98% or 24.70 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 3.21% or 1.33 to hit $40.12 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.54% or 1.06 to trade at $40.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.37% to 2.8779, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 3.2199.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.16.
