Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Electricity and Textile & Leather sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 7.87% or 0.210 points to trade at 2.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 4.64% or 0.80 points to end at 18.03 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was up 4.25% or 0.98 points to 24.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which fell 2.81% or 0.330 points to trade at 11.420 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.74% or 0.58 points to end at 20.62 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was down 2.70% or 0.020 points to 0.720.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 202 to 139 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aselsan (IS:ASELS) rose to all time highs; up 4.64% or 0.80 to 18.03.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.05% or 13.60 to $1280.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.64% or 0.86 to hit $51.55 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.69% or 0.93 to trade at $53.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.32% to 3.6726, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 3.9335.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 99.74.
