Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Metal Products & Machinery and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.50% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER), which rose 8.54% or 1.40 points to trade at 17.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM) added 7.95% or 0.140 points to end at 1.900 and Tekstilbank (IS:TEKST) was up 7.58% or 0.160 points to 2.270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which fell 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 at the close. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 3.15% or 0.240 points to end at 7.390 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) was down 2.78% or 0.27 points to 9.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 244 to 151 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 4.17% or 0.010 to 0.230.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.47% or 5.20 to $1117.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.26% or 0.11 to hit $43.00 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $49.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.17% to 2.8678, while EUR/TRY rose 0.92% to 3.1770.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 96.83.
