Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Basic Metals and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE), which rose 6.75% or 0.170 points to trade at 2.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 6.15% or 0.38 points to end at 6.56 and Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA) was up 5.29% or 0.36 points to 7.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS), which fell 9.14% or 0.48 points to trade at 4.77 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 6.98% or 2.92 points to end at 38.92 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) was down 5.61% or 1.36 points to 22.88.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 233 to 112 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.15% or 0.38 to 6.56.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.46% or 5.85 to $1260.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.14% or 0.93 to hit $44.37 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.44% or 1.50 to trade at $45.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 2.9484, while EUR/TRY rose 0.19% to 3.3579.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.18.
