Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Telecoms & IT sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.90%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (MC:REP), which rose 3.00% or 0.370 points to trade at 12.685 at the close. Meanwhile, Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) added 2.96% or 0.395 points to end at 13.760 and Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) was up 2.88% or 0.163 points to 5.829 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which fell 1.30% or 0.031 points to trade at 2.354 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 0.98% or 0.100 points to end at 10.150 and International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) was down 0.74% or 0.030 points to 4.034.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 116 to 83 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.74% or 0.030 to 4.034.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.72% or 9.05 to $1260.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.67% or 1.33 to hit $51.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.16% or 1.12 to trade at $53.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1150, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 96.84.
