Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 6.55% or 0.333 points to trade at 5.413 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 1.60% or 0.158 points to end at 10.000 and ACS Const. (MC:ACS) was up 1.60% or 0.435 points to 27.565 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which fell 1.15% or 0.075 points to trade at 6.457 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 1.06% or 0.10 points to end at 9.43 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) was down 0.85% or 0.014 points to 1.626.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 113 to 83 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1271.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.03% or 0.48 to hit $46.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.56% or 0.27 to trade at $47.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.75% to 1.1291, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.7860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 94.74.
