Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.56% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 1.16% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.87 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) added 0.11% or 0.0070 points to end at 6.5670 and Portugal Telecom (LISBON:PTC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 0.5000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which fell 6.32% or 0.1650 points to trade at 2.4450 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 6.22% or 0.2540 points to end at 3.8280 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was down 3.53% or 0.4825 points to 13.1675.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 59 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 3.99% or 2.50 to $65.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.94% or 2.27 to hit $59.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1189.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0984, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.7194.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.01.
