Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 1.44% or 2.30 points to trade at 162.00 at the close. Meanwhile, International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) added 1.09% or 1.000 points to end at 93.000 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) was up 0.95% or 0.19 points to 20.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which fell 4.62% or 60.00 points to trade at 1240.00 at the close. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 3.66% or 0.160 points to end at 4.210 and Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) was down 3.65% or 8.00 points to 211.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 132 to 78 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.09% or 1.000 to 93.000.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.67% or 8.09 to $1224.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.98% or 0.45 to hit $46.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.42 to trade at $49.15 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.09% to 7.2315, while USD/PHP rose 0.02% to 49.931.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 99.32.
