Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Software & Computer Services and Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 11.53% or 0.19 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 3.53% or 0.22 points to end at 6.46 and Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) was up 2.85% or 0.89 points to 32.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 16.47% or 4.1 points to trade at 21.0 at the close. Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) declined 4.56% or 0.83 points to end at 17.38 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) was down 3.56% or 0.3 points to 8.7.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 94 to 73 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; down 16.47% or 4.1 to 21.0.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.72% or 0.77 to $45.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.97% or 0.91 to hit $47.17 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.05% or 14.05 to trade at $1329.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.59% to 9.2915, while USD/NOK fell 0.78% to 8.3628.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.15.
