Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.87% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 2.52% or 0.11 points to trade at 4.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 2.31% or 0.73 points to end at 32.28 and Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3) was up 1.69% or 0.32 points to 19.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3), which fell 7.06% or 1.15 points to trade at 15.15 at the close. Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) declined 5.50% or 0.61 points to end at 10.49 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR4) was down 5.07% or 0.44 points to 8.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 140 to 136 and 33 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.13% to 40.02 a new 6-months low.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.74% or 9.00 to $1211.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.45% or 0.55 to trade at $121.28 .
USD/BRL was up 0.74% to 3.6088, while EUR/BRL rose 0.02% to 4.0113.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 95.74.
