Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 22.54% or 1.51 points to trade at 8.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) added 6.03% or 2.10 points to end at 36.95 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) was up 5.61% or 0.81 points to 15.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which fell 4.09% or 0.46 points to trade at 10.80 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 3.68% or 0.36 points to end at 9.42 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) was down 3.23% or 0.57 points to 17.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 185 to 170 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.03% or 2.10 to 36.95. Shares in Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.61% or 0.81 to 15.26.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.28% to 42.49.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.15% or 1.92 to $1255.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 5.30% or 2.72 to hit $48.64 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.79% or 1.02 to trade at $129.47 .
USD/BRL was up 0.06% to 3.2794, while EUR/BRL fell 0.04% to 3.6756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.16.
