Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 14.78% or 2.54 points to trade at 19.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3) added 4.59% or 3.22 points to end at 73.32 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was up 3.09% or 0.74 points to 24.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3), which fell 3.15% or 1.11 points to trade at 34.09 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) declined 2.91% or 0.23 points to end at 7.67 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was down 2.46% or 0.27 points to 10.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 172 to 169 and 44 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.43% to 25.22.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.78% or 9.87 to $1269.87 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.49% or 0.73 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 1.79% or 2.43 to trade at $137.98 .
USD/BRL was down 0.58% to 3.1348, while EUR/BRL rose 0.16% to 3.6848.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 93.16.
