Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4), which rose 5.77% or 0.81 points to trade at 14.85 at the close. Meanwhile, B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) added 5.56% or 1.46 points to end at 27.70 and Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3) was up 5.21% or 1.41 points to 28.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3), which fell 4.23% or 2.06 points to trade at 46.64 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) declined 3.05% or 0.73 points to end at 23.20 and CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) was down 2.86% or 0.30 points to 10.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 245 to 169 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.23% or 2.06 to 46.64.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.11% to 34.55.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.63% or 8.00 to $1270.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.80% or 0.52 to hit $65.42 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.31% or 0.36 to trade at $116.78 .
USD/BRL was up 0.74% to 3.7743, while EUR/BRL rose 0.65% to 4.3713.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.74.
