United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 0.07%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Telecoms and Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.07%, while the ADX General index lost 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA), which rose 3.75% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 3.57% or 0.040 points to end at 1.160 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was up 2.92% or 0.040 points to 1.410 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which fell 2.56% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.520 at the close. National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) declined 1.93% or 0.060 points to end at 3.050 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 1.57% or 0.009 points to 0.564.

The top performers on the ADX General were Fujairah Building Industries Co PSC (AD:FBI) which rose 12.32% to 1.55, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 5.51% to settle at 2.680 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which gained 2.22% to close at 0.9200.

The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 3.85% to 0.500 in late trade, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which lost 2.60% to settle at 0.7500 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which was down 1.99% to 9.85 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 fell and 10 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) rose to all time highs; up 3.75% or 0.060 to 1.660. Shares in Takaful House (DU:DTKF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.57% or 0.040 to 1.160.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.26% or 0.12 to $45.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.45% or 0.21 to hit $46.96 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1319.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.02% to 4.0467.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.07.
