Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.16% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index gained 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR), which rose 3.03% or 0.230 points to trade at 7.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) added 2.63% or 0.030 points to end at 1.170 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was up 2.37% or 0.010 points to 0.432 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 0.92% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.080 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 0.90% or 0.004 points to end at 0.439 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was down 0.88% or 0.010 points to 1.130.
The top performers on the ADX General were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which rose 13.89% to 0.410, Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was up 7.50% to settle at 1.290 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 6.59% to close at 0.9700.
The worst performers were Fujairah Cement Industries Co PSC (AD:FCI) which was down 6.73% to 0.970 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 2.50% to settle at 3.12 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 2.17% to 2.250 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 10 declined, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.03% or 0.230 to 7.830.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.51% or 0.69 to $46.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.66% or 0.80 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1271.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.19% to 4.1207.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 97.07.
