Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Roo Hsing (TW:4414), which rose 9.98% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Candmark (TW:5259) added 9.96% or 0.28 points to end at 3.09 and Aoc (TW:6289) was up 9.92% or 0.120 points to 1.330 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mag Tech (TW:2358), which fell 6.40% or 0.45 points to trade at 6.58 at the close. Everfocus Elec (TW:5484) declined 5.47% or 0.310 points to end at 5.360 and Twinhead Intl (TW:2364) was down 5.00% or 0.090 points to 1.710.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 380 to 369 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mag Tech (TW:2358) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.40% or 0.45 to 6.58.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.59% or 0.78 to $48.21 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.00% or 0.50 to hit $49.60 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.54% or 7.25 to trade at $1346.25 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.24% to 32.280, while TWD/CNY fell 0.14% to 0.2072.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.66.
