Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Electronic Parts/Components and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.16% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2424), which rose 9.97% or 3.40 points to trade at 37.50 at the close. Meanwhile, X-Legend Entertainment Co Ltd (TW:4994) added 9.82% or 4.65 points to end at 52.00 and EnTie Commercial Bank Ltd (TW:2849) was up 9.77% or 1.25 points to 14.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were FocalTech Systems Co Ltd (TW:3545), which fell 9.47% or 2.60 points to trade at 24.85 at the close. Yageo Corp (TW:2327) declined 9.26% or 33.00 points to end at 323.50 and Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) was down 9.21% or 17.00 points to 167.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 661 to 172 and 74 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.30% or 0.16 to $52.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.45% or 0.28 to hit $61.95 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1254.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.11% to 30.902, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.420.
