Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Biotech & Medical Care and Rubber sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.71%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tpk Holding (TW:3673), which rose 10.00% or 8.10 points to trade at 89.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Chilisin Elec (TW:2456) added 9.97% or 4.65 points to end at 51.30 and Star Comgistic (TW:4930) was up 9.91% or 1.65 points to 18.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chenming Mold (TW:3013), which fell 8.03% or 1.65 points to trade at 18.90 at the close. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 7.85% or 0.95 points to end at 11.15 and Twinhead Intl (TW:2364) was down 5.05% or 0.22 points to 4.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 485 to 346 and 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.49% or 0.23 to $46.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.21% or 0.10 to hit $49.56 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1141.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.03% to 32.434, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.1947.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 96.84.
