Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Glass, Oil, Gas & Electricity and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Nan Ya Pcb Cor (TW:8046), which rose 10.00% or 2.65 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Sunspring Meta (TW:2062) added 9.98% or 4.10 points to end at 45.20 and Hai Kwang (TW:2038) was up 9.98% or 0.82 points to 9.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Topoint Tech (TW:8021), which fell 10.00% or 2.90 points to trade at 26.10 at the close. Inventec Besta (TW:8201) declined 10.00% or 2.05 points to end at 18.45 and Y.C.C. (TW:1339) was down 9.97% or 4.80 points to 43.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 401 to 376 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hai Kwang (TW:2038) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.98% or 0.82 to 9.04.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.11% or 0.06 to $53.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.83 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.75 to trade at $1286.85 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.87% to 30.276, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2266.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.07.
