Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Auto, Electricity and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Epileds Tech (TW:4956), which rose 10.00% or 2.10 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Taisol (TW:3338) added 10.00% or 2.95 points to end at 32.45 and Candmark (TW:5259) was up 9.95% or 0.19 points to 2.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tong-Hwa Synth (TW:1418), which fell 5.81% or 0.27 points to trade at 4.38 at the close. Sumagh High-Te (TW:1475) declined 3.81% or 0.40 points to end at 10.10 and Young Fast (TW:3622) was down 3.24% or 0.50 points to 14.95.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 418 to 316 and 116 ended unchanged.
Shares in Epileds Tech (TW:4956) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.00% or 2.10 to 23.10. Shares in Taisol (TW:3338) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.00% or 2.95 to 32.45.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $47.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1324.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.20% to 31.730, while TWD/CNY fell 0.19% to 0.2100.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 95.70.
