Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Land & Property and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) added 15.42% or 220.40 points to end at 1650.00 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which fell 15.38% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.10 at the close. First Capital Holdings PLC (CM:CFVF) declined 8.93% or 2.50 points to end at 25.50 and Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) was down 8.86% or 78.00 points to 802.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 60 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) fell to all time lows; falling 15.38% or 0.20 to 1.10.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.59% or 0.30 to $51.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.69% or 0.37 to hit $54.29 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.80% or 9.75 to trade at $1202.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.55% to 185.900, while USD/LKR rose 0.51% to 151.030.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 101.12.
