Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Motors and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU), which rose 24.84% or 3.90 points to trade at 19.60 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was up 18.11% or 9.60 points to 62.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which fell 14.74% or 2.80 points to trade at 16.20 at the close. People’s Merchant Finance PLC (CM:PMB) declined 12.86% or 1.80 points to end at 12.20 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) was down 11.11% or 6.50 points to 52.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 68 and 62 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.28% or 0.15 to $53.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.20% or 0.11 to hit $56.12 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1223.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.45% to 184.350, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 151.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 101.78.
