Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Manufacturing and Motors sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Hayleys MGT Knitting Mills PLC (CM:MGT) added 13.33% or 2.00 points to end at 17.00 and Balangoda Plantations PLC (CM:BALA) was up 11.11% or 1.30 points to 13.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Property Development PLC (CM:PDL), which fell 18.42% or 18.40 points to trade at 81.50 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 12.56% or 179.60 points to end at 1250.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 95 to 58 and 44 ended unchanged.

Shares in Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) fell to all time lows; falling 9.09% or 0.100 to 1.000.

Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.54% or 0.83 to $53.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.58% or 0.90 to hit $56.20 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.75 to trade at $1176.15 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was down 1.37% to 182.810, while USD/LKR rose 0.38% to 150.490.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 102.43.
