Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 5.38% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 1.20% or 0.55 points to end at 46.40 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 1.13% or 0.29 points to 25.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which fell 4.27% or 2.83 points to trade at 63.37 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.32% or 0.28 points to end at 8.16 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 2.83% or 134.00 points to 4600.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 257 to 251 and 200 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.27% or 2.83 to 63.37. Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; down 3.32% or 0.28 to 8.16.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.81% or 1.35 to $46.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.82% or 0.91 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.12% or 15.05 to trade at $1331.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.08% to 4.3072, while USD/PLN rose 0.35% to 3.8257.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.76.
