Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA), which rose 2.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 5.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Unacem (LM:CEL) added 1.65% or 0.040 points to end at 2.460 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 0.82% or 0.030 points to 3.670 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Credicorp (LM:BAP), which fell 3.47% or 5.000 points to trade at 139.000 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 2.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.720 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was down 2.68% or 0.400 points to 14.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 4 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.70% or 0.020 to 0.720.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.00% or 0.01 to $59.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.40% or 1.49 to hit $63.37 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.53% or 6.30 to trade at $1172.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.03% to 3.1765, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.5427.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.71% at 95.75.
