Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 7.33% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.249 at the close. Meanwhile, Minsur (LM:MINi) added 5.00% or 0.070 points to end at 1.470 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 4.00% or 0.020 points to 0.520 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Panoro (LM:PML), which fell 10.34% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.130 at the close. Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) declined 6.78% or 0.040 points to end at 0.550 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) was down 3.85% or 0.050 points to 1.250.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Minsur (LM:MINi) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.00% or 0.070 to 1.470.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.76% or 0.35 to $45.46 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.02% or 0.48 to hit $46.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.15 to trade at $1224.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.39% to 3.4050, while EUR/PEN fell 1.65% to 3.6391.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 100.40.
