Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 5.88% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.090 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferreyros (LM:FER) added 2.56% or 0.030 points to end at 1.200 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) was up 2.13% or 0.100 points to 4.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which fell 6.32% or 0.810 points to trade at 12.000 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 3.41% or 0.030 points to end at 0.850 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was down 3.33% or 0.005 points to 0.145.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.32% or 0.810 to 12.000.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.57% or 0.69 to $44.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.22% or 0.58 to hit $47.93 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.33% or 3.70 to trade at $1104.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.17% to 3.2070, while EUR/PEN fell 0.30% to 3.6294.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 95.76.
