Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 5.26% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Credicorp (LM:BAP) added 4.75% or 7.400 points to end at 163.100 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 3.88% or 1.04 points to 27.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which fell 6.15% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.610 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.08% or 0.005 points to end at 0.236 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was down 1.96% or 0.050 points to 2.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 1.95% or 0.86 to $44.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.51% or 0.69 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.72% or 22.50 to trade at $1282.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.50% to 3.3715, while EUR/PEN rose 0.01% to 3.7518.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 97.77.
