Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.25% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 23.08% or 0.075 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 9.26% or 0.025 points to end at 0.295 and Panoro (LM:PML) was up 8.11% or 0.009 points to 0.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which fell 2.86% or 0.100 points to trade at 3.400 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 1.81% or 0.350 points to end at 19.000 and Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) was down 1.54% or 0.010 points to 0.640.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 24 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atacocha (LM:ATB) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.26% or 0.025 to 0.295. Shares in Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) fell to 52-week highs; down 1.54% or 0.010 to 0.640.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.62% or 0.26 to $41.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $43.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1234.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2655, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7027.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.45.
