Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 4.55% or 1.000 points to trade at 23.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 3.16% or 0.030 points to end at 0.980 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) was up 3.15% or 0.420 points to 13.750 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which fell 5.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.380 at the close. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 2.78% or 0.040 points to end at 1.400 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was down 2.36% or 0.060 points to 2.480.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.55% or 1.000 to 23.000.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.21% or 0.11 to $52.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.36% or 0.20 to hit $55.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.37% or 16.35 to trade at $1212.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.50% to 3.2750, while EUR/PEN rose 0.85% to 3.5416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.87% at 99.55.
