Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction & Building Materials and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Med Paper (CS:PAP), which rose 9.94% or 1.77 points to trade at 19.57 at the close. Meanwhile, M2M Group (CS:M2M) added 9.85% or 26.90 points to end at 299.90 and Sothema (CS:SOT) was up 5.92% or 77 points to 1377 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fenie Brossette (CS:FBR), which fell 7.38% or 7.25 points to trade at 91.00 at the close. Aluminum du Maroc SA (CS:ALU) declined 3.43% or 32 points to end at 900 and IB Maroc Com SA (CS:IBC) was down 2.99% or 3.35 points to 108.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 18 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Med Paper (CS:PAP) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.94% or 1.77 to 19.57. Shares in Sothema (CS:SOT) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.92% or 77 to 1377.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.60% or 0.76 to $46.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.54% or 0.77 to hit $49.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1326.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.06% to 10.8920, while USD/MAD rose 0.10% to 9.7468.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.60.
