Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 15.93% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.131 at the close. Meanwhile, FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr) added 6.18% or 0.170 points to end at 2.920 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 6.08% or 0.039 points to 0.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which fell 9.71% or 0.2700 points to trade at 2.5100 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 5.15% or 0.007 points to end at 0.129 and Intracom Hold (AT:INRr) was down 4.03% or 0.012 points to 0.286.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 50 to 42 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.15 to $1326.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.38% or 1.07 to hit $43.83 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 1.02 to trade at $46.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1256, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8530.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 95.31.
