Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 2.50% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 8.62% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.260 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 7.45% or 0.012 points to end at 0.173 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 6.87% or 0.036 points to 0.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iaso (AT:IASr), which fell 1.39% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.495 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 1.28% or 0.030 points to end at 2.310 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was down 0.70% or 0.050 points to 7.130.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 82 to 17 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.85 to $1254.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.89% or 0.90 to hit $48.63 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 0.94 to trade at $51.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.0857, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 99.08.
