Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Household sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 30.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) added 17.14% or 0.018 points to end at 0.123 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) was up 10.40% or 0.013 points to 0.138 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which fell 7.63% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.121 at the close. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 3.12% or 0.12 points to end at 3.73 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was down 2.99% or 0.020 points to 0.650.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 68 to 35 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.99% or 0.020 to 0.650.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.25% or 2.80 to $1124.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.33% or 0.15 to hit $45.90 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.58% or 1.71 to trade at $49.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1175, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.7266.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 96.01.
