Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Banking and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 7.29% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.103 at the close. Meanwhile, Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) added 7.06% or 0.012 points to end at 0.182 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was up 5.63% or 0.080 points to 1.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 3.74% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.0300 at the close. Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) declined 2.31% or 0.160 points to end at 6.780 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was down 2.29% or 0.060 points to 2.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 63 to 34 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.65% or 8.21 to $1263.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.30% or 0.63 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.48 to trade at $51.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.24% to 1.1217, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8698.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.08.
