Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Banking and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.69% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.2150 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 9.66% or 0.074 points to end at 0.840 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was up 8.00% or 0.016 points to 0.218 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Korres (AT:KRRr), which fell 4.52% or 0.210 points to trade at 4.440 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 4.20% or 0.060 points to end at 1.370 and Hygeia (AT:HYGr) was down 3.51% or 0.012 points to 0.330.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 59 to 46 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Iaso (AT:IASr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.66% or 0.074 to 0.840.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 10.65 to $1268.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.48% or 0.22 to hit $45.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.23 to trade at $48.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1186, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.34.
