Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 added 1.16% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV), which rose 2.93% or 1.18 points to trade at 41.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 2.90% or 0.100 points to end at 3.550 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) was up 2.25% or 0.38 points to 17.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 0.20% or 0.010 points to trade at 5.020 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 0.06% or 0.005 points to end at 8.820 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 0.03% or 0.01 points to 31.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 122 to 52 and 18 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $49.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.52 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.31% or 3.85 to trade at $1219.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1171, while EUR/GBP rose 0.51% to 0.7630.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.30.
