Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Cargotec Oyj (HE:CGCBV), which rose 4.07% or 1.86 points to trade at 47.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Konecranes ABP (HE:KCRA) added 2.65% or 0.94 points to end at 36.46 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 2.23% or 0.64 points to 29.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fortum Oyj (HE:FORTUM), which fell 0.99% or 0.18 points to trade at 17.95 at the close. Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) declined 0.72% or 0.42 points to end at 57.82 and Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V) was down 0.69% or 0.20 points to 28.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 84 to 57 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) rose to all time highs; up 2.23% or 0.64 to 29.34.
Brent oil for May delivery was up 0.51% or 0.33 to $65.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.56% or 0.34 to hit $61.30 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.59% or 7.80 to trade at $1317.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.2320, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8831.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 90.03.
