Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE), which rose 2.77% or 1.56 points to trade at 57.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Wartsila Oyj Abp (HE:WRT1V) added 1.06% or 0.58 points to end at 55.16 and UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM) was up 1.05% or 0.28 points to 27.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA), which fell 2.03% or 0.082 points to trade at 3.964 at the close. YIT Oyj (HE:YTY1V) declined 1.04% or 0.07 points to end at 6.68 and Nordea Bank AB FDR (HE:NDA1V) was down 0.77% or 0.080 points to 10.280.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 73 to 63 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Neste Oil Oyj (HE:NESTE) rose to all time highs; up 2.77% or 1.56 to 57.92.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $69.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $64.07 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 8.20 to trade at $1331.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.2250, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8811.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 90.24.
