Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 1.56% or 2.00 points to trade at 130.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 1.07% or 0.48 points to end at 45.24 and Aperam (AS:APAM) was up 0.75% or 0.36 points to 48.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 0.93% or 0.43 points to trade at 46.47 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.80% or 0.90 points to end at 111.05 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 0.73% or 0.105 points to 14.280.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.28% or 3.45 to $1233.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0746, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8699.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.13.
