Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.34% or 0.04 points to trade at 13.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 0.31% or 0.35 points to end at 114.55 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 0.12% or 0.15 points to 129.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.82% or 1.540 points to trade at 83.060 at the close. Aperam (AS:APAM) declined 0.54% or 0.25 points to end at 46.05 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 0.36% or 0.20 points to 55.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 54 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.11% or 13.85 to $1267.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.04% or 0.54 to hit $52.24 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.41 to trade at $55.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.0616, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 100.82.
