Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.54% or 2.600 points to trade at 76.040 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 1.21% or 0.52 points to end at 42.90 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.78% or 0.27 points to 34.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 1.71% or 0.44 points to trade at 25.27 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.52% or 0.43 points to end at 28.26 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.75% or 0.315 points to 41.695.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 56 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1247.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.89% or 0.51 to hit $57.87 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.86% or 1.18 to trade at $64.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1797, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.78.
