Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, IT and A-REITs sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/ASX 200 were Polynovo Ltd (ASX:PNV), which rose 8.02% or 0.17 points to trade at 2.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Ingenia Communities Group (ASX:INA) added 2.77% or 0.13 points to end at 4.83 and Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) was up 2.50% or 2.83 points to 115.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Perpetual Ltd (ASX:PPT), which fell 6.95% or 1.67 points to trade at 22.35 at the close. St Barbara Ltd (ASX:SBM) declined 3.92% or 0.01 points to end at 0.25 and Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:MSB) was down 3.83% or 0.05 points to 1.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 577 to 541 and 452 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pro Medicus Ltd (ASX:PME) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.50% or 2.83 to 115.93.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.65% to 11.12.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.45 to $2,323.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.63% or 0.49 to hit $77.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.54 to trade at $82.62 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 0.66, while AUD/JPY rose 0.10% to 102.16.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 105.41.
