The company also provides leasing, hire purchase, corporate and retail credit, corporate advisory services, capital market operations, micro financing, agricultural credit facilities, and real estate services; and engages in margin trading, equity trading, and debt trading, as well as pawning operations. In addition, it offers life and general insurance underwriting services; and bike and three wheel leasing services. The company was formerly known as Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka PLC and changed its name to Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC in November 2014. The company was incorporated in 1982 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC operates as a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon.
