TTM Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:TTMI) had a nice pop on Tuesday, broke out, spiked from 15.97 to 17 1/4, and closed up 1.33, or 8.5%, to 17.06, on 3.2 million shares traded. The volume is solid here, and the best volume in several weeks. I’ll be watching on Wednesday to see if it can get up through the 17.85 area. If it does, the targets are 19 and 21. With almost 10 days to cover , it may very well get a little thrust.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (NASDAQ:VRTX) had big drug news a few days ago, and it went from under 90 to 112. The last two days it has been consolidating. On Tuesday, it popped from 107 to 112.69, pulled back and closed up 4.84, or 4.5%, to 112.29, on 2.8 million shares traded. Solid volume. If it gets through Tuesday’s high, then we may very well see it run up to the 130-5 zone.
Stocks on the Short Side….
Jack In The Box Inc (NASDAQ:JACK) continues to form a large, rising bear wedge, the 50-day moving average and declining topsline. It was down 17 cents to 101.72, on 360,896 shares traded. This is the area I want it to fail, because we don’t want it over 102 1/2-3. Targets are in the 93-91 zones, and then I will be looking for 82-84.
Tempur Sealy International Inc (NYSE:TPX) fell 90 cents, or 2%, to 44.39, on 896,678 shares traded. It looks like it’s about to rollover. It had a nasty drop at the end of January, and has taken about a month and a half or two months to consolidate, forming a big bear wedge. If that breaks, we’ll see 37, and maybe all the way down to the high 20’s.
