Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , Glass and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Logah (TW:3593), which rose 10.00% or 0.95 points to trade at 10.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Shinkong Texti (TW:1419) added 9.99% or 4.00 points to end at 44.05 and Teapo (TW:2375) was up 9.80% or 2.00 points to 22.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Asmedia (TW:5269), which fell 9.87% or 29.50 points to trade at 269.50 at the close. Inventec Besta (TW:8201) declined 9.76% or 1.80 points to end at 16.65 and E-Lead Elec (TW:2497) was down 9.65% or 3.70 points to 34.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 767 to 71 and 36 ended unchanged.
Shares in Logah (TW:3593) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.00% or 0.95 to 10.45. Shares in Teapo (TW:2375) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 9.80% or 2.00 to 22.40.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.41% or 0.22 to $52.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.64 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 11.35 to trade at $1289.45 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 30.373, while TWD/CNY fell 0.13% to 0.2265.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 100.49.
