Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Textile and Biotech & Medical Care sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.18% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tainan Cayman (TW:5906), which rose 9.05% or 0.20 points to trade at 2.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant (TW:6176) added 8.01% or 3.55 points to end at 47.85 and Gordon Auto (TW:1524) was up 7.27% or 0.56 points to 8.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eclat Textile (TW:1476), which fell 10.00% or 34.50 points to trade at 310.50 at the close. K.S. Terminals (TW:3003) declined 9.96% or 3.70 points to end at 33.45 and Chlitina (TW:4137) was down 9.95% or 21.50 points to 194.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 495 to 254 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eclat Textile (TW:1476) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.00% or 34.50 to 310.50.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.61% or 0.72 to $45.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.10% or 0.50 to hit $45.87 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.92% or 11.85 to trade at $1282.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.01% to 32.405, while TWD/CNY rose 0.10% to 0.2005.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 93.89.
