Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Optoelectronic, Paper & Pulp and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348), which rose 10.00% or 3.65 points to trade at 40.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Lealea Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1444) added 9.92% or 0.86 points to end at 9.53 and General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456) was up 9.89% or 22.00 points to 244.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262), which fell 9.92% or 9.20 points to trade at 83.50 at the close. Taroko Textile Corp (TW:1432) declined 7.85% or 1.30 points to end at 15.25 and Right Way Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1506) was down 7.13% or 1.65 points to 21.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 455 to 297 and 127 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hiyes International Co Ltd (TW:2348) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 3.65 to 40.15. Shares in Green Seal Holding Ltd (TW:1262) fell to all time lows; falling 9.92% or 9.20 to 83.50. Shares in Lealea Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:1444) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.92% or 0.86 to 9.53. Shares in General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:6456) rose to all time highs; rising 9.89% or 22.00 to 244.50.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.75% or 0.79 to $45.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.49% or 0.71 to hit $48.23 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.57 to trade at $1218.27 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.40% to 30.464, while TWD/CNY fell 0.18% to 0.2235.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 95.48.
